SERI Mediclinic is proud to partner with the Tzu Chi International Medical Association (TIMA) Perak — under the Buddhist Tzu Chi Merits Society of Malaysia — on a free community health screening event for Kampar residents this April.
The event is open to the public, free of charge, and aims to bring accessible health checks and clinician consultations to the Kampar community.

- Venue: Persatuan Penganut Agama Buddha Kinta Lot 15431, Jalan Seksyen 3/1, Taman Bandar Barat, 31900 Kampar, Perak

What SERI Mediclinic Is Providing
Our clinical team from SERI Mediclinic Kampar will be on-site running two dedicated stations:
1. Free Blood Pressure (BP) Screening
A quick, 3-minute BP check for any member of the public. High blood pressure is often silent — many adults in Malaysia don’t know they have it until complications arise. A single screening can catch it early.
If your reading is elevated, our team will: – Explain what the numbers mean for your health – Advise whether you should see a doctor for follow-up – Provide information about managing blood pressure through lifestyle and, where needed, medication
2. Wound Care Awareness Booth
Led by Dr. Hema Seridaran — our founder and a wound care specialist — this booth educates the community on:
- How to recognise early warning signs of non-healing wounds
- Why diabetic foot ulcers are particularly dangerous and how to prevent them
- Simple daily foot-check routines that can prevent hospitalisation
- When to seek specialist help rather than continuing home care
- What modern wound care looks like — and how early intervention saves limbs
Printed resources will be available in English and Bahasa Malaysia. Individual questions welcomed — there’s no fee and no appointment needed.
About the Event’s Objectives
The program, organised by TIMA Perak, aims to:
- Increase health awareness among Kampar-area residents
- Provide free health screening services to the public
- Offer consultation opportunities with participating medical professionals from TIMA, SERI Mediclinic, and partner organisations
- Identify high-risk individuals for early follow-up and referral
Why This Event Matters
A significant number of Malaysians are living with undiagnosed hypertension, diabetes, or early-stage chronic disease. For many, the barrier isn’t knowledge — it’s access, cost, or a comfortable environment to ask questions. Community events like this one lower those barriers.
For SERI Mediclinic specifically, the Wound Care Awareness Booth is a direct continuation of our founding philosophy: “Say no to amputation. Say yes to healing and hope.” Diabetic foot ulcers and non-healing wounds are among the most preventable causes of disability in Malaysia — but only when caught early. Bringing that awareness directly to the community is something Dr. Hema has championed since SERI Mediclinic opened in Kampar in 2022.
Who Should Come
- Adults over 40 — for a baseline BP check
- Anyone with diabetes or a family history of diabetes — to learn about foot health and wound prevention
- Elderly residents — free assessment opportunity close to home
- Anyone caring for an elderly parent with chronic disease — bring them along
- Community members who haven’t seen a doctor recently and want a simple, no-pressure check
