The Promo (Until 31 May 2026)
To mark Workers’ Day month, we’re offering subsidised health screening at SERI Mediclinic & Surgeri Silibin for Ipoh-area workers and families:
- Basic Blood Test — RM60 (normally RM110, you save RM50)
- Optional add-on: ECG (Heart Rhythm Check) — RM30
This is a limited-time promotion. The promo ends Saturday 31 May 2026, so if you’ve been meaning to get screened, this is the week to book.
Why “Basic Blood Test” Matters More Than Most People Realise
A basic blood test isn’t the same as a quick finger-prick at a pharmacy. The package we run includes the foundation panels that catch the conditions most likely to affect Malaysian working adults:
- Full Blood Count (FBC) — picks up anaemia, hidden infection, low platelets
- Fasting Blood Sugar — the single most useful early indicator of diabetes risk
- Urine analysis — kidney issues, urinary tract infection, early diabetes clues
- Blood pressure — taken during the visit; included automatically
In Malaysia, roughly 1 in 5 adults already have diabetes and many more have pre-diabetes — without knowing. The same is true of hypertension (“the silent killer”) and high cholesterol. None of these show symptoms until damage has already started.
A RM60 basic blood test catches them early enough to fix.
Why Add the RM30 ECG?
If you’re 35 or older, sit for long hours at work, or have a family history of heart disease, an ECG (electrocardiogram) is a worthwhile add-on. It’s a painless, 5-minute test that records your heart’s electrical activity and detects:
- Irregular heart rhythms (atrial fibrillation, premature beats)
- Signs of past silent heart attack
- Chamber strain from long-standing high blood pressure
- Conduction abnormalities
Heart disease remains the leading cause of death in Malaysia. ECG is one of the cheapest, fastest screening tools available — and at RM30 during this promo, it’s hard to skip.
Who Should Take Advantage of This Promo?
This package is ideal if you are:
- 30 or older and haven’t had a check-up in over a year
- A shift worker or long-hours office worker (irregular sleep, sedentary days)
- Someone with family history of diabetes, hypertension, or heart disease
- Carrying extra weight around the abdomen
- Experiencing vague tiredness, frequent thirst, or wake-up urination at night
- Simply due for a routine check and want a complete baseline
How to Prepare (10-Hour Fast)
The fasting blood sugar test requires 10 hours of no food or drink (plain water is fine). The easiest way: book a morning slot, eat dinner by 9 PM the night before, and skip breakfast. Come straight to the clinic.
For the ECG, no preparation needed. Wear loose, comfortable clothing.
How Long the Visit Takes
- Registration and fasting blood draw: ~15 minutes
- Urine sample + BP check: ~5 minutes
- ECG (if added): ~10 minutes
- Doctor’s review of immediate results (sugar, urine, BP, ECG): ~10 minutes
- Full lab results (FBC) typically by next day
Total in-clinic time: about 45 minutes.
What You Get After
- A printed report with your numbers
- A doctor’s explanation in plain language — what’s normal, what to watch, what needs follow-up
- A personalised next step — sometimes nothing more than annual repeat; sometimes a referral or further test
If anything significant comes up, Dr. Hema personally reviews your file and calls you back.
Real Numbers — What Catching Conditions Early Saves You
We’re not just being dramatic when we say screening saves money. Consider:
| Condition caught early | Typical lifetime treatment cost if missed |
|---|---|
| Pre-diabetes (lifestyle reversed) | Up to RM200,000 avoided diabetes care + complications |
| Stage 1 hypertension (single pill) | Avoidance of stroke / heart attack cost (RM50,000+) |
| Early kidney damage (proteinuria) | Avoidance of dialysis (RM50,000+ per year) |
| Silent heart rhythm issue | Stroke prevention is genuinely priceless |
A RM60–RM90 screen, repeated yearly, is the best-value medical decision most working Malaysians can make.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I bring my spouse or parents on the same visit?
Yes — each person needs their own appointment slot but we’ll do our best to schedule consecutively. Each person fasting separately.
Is the promo also available at the Kampar branch?
This Workers’ Day promo is specific to our Silibin (Ipoh) branch. The Kampar branch offers separate seasonal packages — call 012-551 0173 to ask what’s available there.
Can I use my company insurance or panel instead of the promo?
You can use either, whichever gives you the better value. Many corporate health benefits cover annual screening; if yours does, we’ll bill directly to the panel and you’ll save even more. Bring your card.
What if my results show something abnormal?
Our doctor will discuss what it means, whether it needs immediate action, and what follow-up makes sense. You’re never left to interpret a sheet of numbers alone.
How do I book?
Call or WhatsApp 012-943 3882, or just walk in. For the morning fasting slot, calling ahead is recommended so we can reserve your time.
Don’t Miss the Deadline
The promo ends Saturday 31 May 2026. That’s only a few days. If you’ve been telling yourself “I’ll get my check-up done one of these days” — this week is the one.
Book now, save RM50 on the blood test, and add the ECG for just RM30 more. Your future self will thank you.
