We’re Now Officially a TNB Panel Clinic — SERI Mediclinic Kampar

We’re proud to share an important update with our community: SERI Mediclinic Kampar is now an officially recognised panel clinic for Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB), Malaysia’s national electricity utility.

For TNB employees and their families living in or around Kampar, this means easier access to medical care — direct billing, no upfront cash, and the same high-standard service our patients have come to expect.

What “TNB Panel Clinic” Actually Means for You

If you work at TNB (or your spouse or parent does), you likely already have a medical benefit through TNB’s employee healthcare programme. Until now, you may have had to travel further or visit an unfamiliar clinic to use that benefit. Now you can use it right here in Kampar.

A panel arrangement means three concrete things on every visit:

  • No upfront payment. Show your TNB medical card and IC at the front desk — we bill TNB directly.
  • No reimbursement paperwork. You don’t fill forms, attach receipts, or chase up claims.
  • Negotiated coverage. TNB has agreed terms with us for what’s included and what’s covered.

For most outpatient needs — consultations, basic medications, common tests, dressings, vaccinations — you walk in, get seen, and walk out without opening your wallet.

Why TNB Selected SERI Mediclinic Kampar

Panel clinic status isn’t automatic. TNB vets clinics based on:

  • Clinical credentials of the lead doctor
  • Range of services available
  • Cleanliness and facility standards
  • Operating hours (especially evenings and weekends)
  • Geographic convenience for employees

SERI Mediclinic Kampar was selected because we met all five criteria. We’ve been serving Kampar since 2022 under the clinical leadership of Dr. Hema Seridaran, with a particular focus on advanced wound care alongside general family medicine. Our extended hours (we open from 7:30 AM and close at 11 PM on weekdays) suit shift-working employees and families.

What’s Covered Under Your TNB Benefit Here

Most outpatient services are eligible, including:

  • General doctor consultations — fever, infections, minor injuries, chronic disease monitoring
  • Prescription medications dispensed at the clinic
  • Routine wound care and dressings — including diabetic wound management, our flagship specialty
  • Common laboratory tests — blood pressure, blood sugar, urine analysis, ECG
  • Minor procedures — abscess drainage, suturing, foreign body removal
  • Medical certificates for illness-related leave
  • Selected vaccinations (subject to your specific benefit tier)

For services outside the standard panel scope (e.g., extensive imaging or executive-level health screening), we’ll always quote you transparently before proceeding, so there are no surprises.

How to Use Your TNB Benefit at SERI Kampar — Step by Step

The flow is simple:

Before your visit – Bring your TNB medical card (physical or app-based digital card both work) – Bring your IC – Bring your list of current medications if you’re being followed up for a chronic condition

At reception – Show the medical card + IC – Reception runs a quick eligibility check — usually under 5 minutes – You’ll be told what’s covered before seeing the doctor

During consultation – Standard consultation flow with our doctor – In-house tests (BP, blood sugar, urine, ECG) done on the spot if needed – Medications dispensed before you leave

After – For fully covered visits: nothing. Just walk out. – For partial coverage (rare): only the non-covered portion is charged

Who Else Can Use a TNB Card Here

TNB medical cards typically cover:

  • The TNB employee directly
  • The employee’s registered dependents (spouse, eligible children, sometimes parents)

If you’re a dependent visiting alone, bring your own IC plus the employee’s card information. We’ll match the names against TNB’s eligibility records.

Beyond TNB — Other Panels We Accept at Kampar

While this announcement is about the TNB partnership, we are also a panel clinic for many other Malaysian insurers and corporate schemes, including:

  • Great Eastern Life
  • AIA Bhd
  • Allianz Life
  • Prudential Assurance
  • Tokio Marine Life Insurance
  • Manulife
  • MSIG Insurance
  • Etiqa
  • IHP, MiCare, Health Connect, CompuMed (third-party administrators)
  • PERKESO (SOCSO)
  • Perak Prihatin (state card scheme)

If you carry any of these, we can verify on arrival.

What This Means for the Kampar Community

Beyond the immediate convenience for TNB employees, becoming a panel clinic adds to Kampar’s healthcare ecosystem in two ways:

  1. More accessible private care. When more employees use private clinics (instead of overstretched government facilities), waiting times improve for everyone.
  2. Higher service standards. Maintaining panel status requires ongoing audit and quality control — that benefits every patient who walks through our doors, not just TNB employees.

We’ve always operated with the philosophy that good medical care should be straightforward, affordable, and respectful. The TNB partnership is one more step toward making that real for working families in Kampar.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to register in advance to use my TNB card at SERI Kampar?

No. Just walk in with your card and IC. Reception verifies eligibility on the spot.

Are my visit details shared with my employer?

Specific medical details are protected under PDPA. TNB receives aggregated claims data (broad service categories and cost), not your diagnoses. See our Privacy Policy.

Can my spouse use the TNB card while I’m at work?

Yes, as long as your spouse is a registered dependent under your TNB benefit. They bring their own IC plus reference to your TNB card.

What if my visit is partially covered?

We tell you the breakdown before the consultation begins. You can choose to proceed, defer the non-covered portion, or self-pay.

Are wound care and advanced dressings covered under TNB?

Standard wound care typically is. Advanced wound care for chronic ulcers may need a brief pre-authorisation depending on your benefit tier — we handle the call with TNB for you.

Welcome to all TNB employees and families. We look forward to caring for you.
